On the eastern edge of the Caribbean Sea, the US and British Virgin Islands are located 140 miles northwest of St. Kitts and 40 miles east of Puerto Rico. beaches is virtually impossible to resist; they have been ranked among the most beautiful in the world. Sandy Point
has miles of secluded strands, providing safe nesting ground for the endangered leatherback turtle. You'll enjoy

Hall Beach has beautiful sandy shores with full facilities, including beach shacks and grills. The best beach near
Christiansted is located at the Hotel on the Cay, just a short ferry ride from downtown. The little island offers
water sports, a restaurant and bar, and great views of the harbor.Golfers will enjoy a round of golf at the Carambola Golf Club, rated one of the top 18 golf courses in the Caribbean by Caribbean Travel and Life. The Buccaneer Golf Course, just east of Christiansted, is a hilly 6,843-yard, par-72 course dramatically situated by the ocean. In Frederiksted, mountain bikes are a good way to explore the town and its surroundings. Hikers will find a myriad of trails to explore in the countryside, where the focus is on ecotourism. St. John The Smallest of the Three US Virgin Islands, St. John rates as one of the most enchanting spots in the Caribbean. ![]() Through the years its beauty has remained untouched; most of St. John appears as idyllic and pristine as it did when Christopher Columbus and his crew first sighted it about 500 years ago. Its National Park encompasses two-thirds of the island and includes the remains of the Annaberg Sugar Plantation. Get to the Plantation with the help of Varlack Ventures, ferry service, car rentals, & tours. There are a myriad of ways to explore St. John's unspoiled terrain. You can hire a taxi for a personalized tour, or participate in a minibus tour. Jeeps are available for rent, as are mountain bikes. Hiking is an excellent way to see the exotic flora and fauna, an d 22 hiking trails-totaling over 20 miles-make it as easy as taking a walk in the park.St. John's charms abound not only on land; its surrounding waters, including its world-renowned beaches, are its star attractions. By far the most popular is shimmering Trunk Bay, the site of the renowned underwater snorkel trail. You can rent snorkeling equipment and follow the white, red and blue buoys that outline the shallow water trail. The 15 underwater plaques identify the corals and fish that inhabit these waters.
